Buttercross PPG

Welcome to our Patient Participation Group (PPG) representing both Buttercross Health Centre and Ilchester Surgery.

Our group works closely with the Practice Manager and the Healthcare teams at both practices and seeks to provide feedback from patients and to offer suggestions to improve healthcare and communications from a patient perspective.

The PPG also acts as a link with the communities served by the combined practices through placing articles in local publications and hosting occasional public meetings. The group is affiliated to the National Association of Patient Participation Groups (www.napp.org.uk) whose general principles and guidance it follows.

Any patients registered with Buttercross Health Centre, or Ilchester Surgery are able to become an 'Associate' member of the PPG by registering their interest and providing an email address in order to receive notifications.  All patients are encouraged to visit the PPG pages of the website where notices and meeting minutes may be accessed.

The PPG fulfils its role by acting as a 'critical friend' and seeking to provide, through its ‘participation’, a positive and supportive influence on matters relating to the well-being of patients and effective running of the combined practices.

If you would like to find out more about the Patient Participation Group please email ppgbhc@gmail.com  with your contact details and a PPG member will be in touch to explain about the role of the group and how this is fulfilled.

Meet the Patient Participation Group

Our elected PPG representatives have a wealth of knowledge and wonderful connections to our practice area.

There are twelve 'Full Members' of the PPG which meets regularly with the Practice Manager and Healthcare Team to discuss the services provided, on-going improvements and patient experiences.

Please note that the PPG is not a channel for individual, specific complaints relating to personal matters or treatment.  Important as these are, the combined practice has its own system in place for dealing with such concerns.
